24/7 emergency garage door technician
You are such an unprofessional garage door technician! This is a statement that I have heard once or twice while being a garage door technician but can I be heard for once? May I have the opportunity to share what it is to be a 24/7 emergency garage door technician?
Its about 7 in the evening when I am sitting down to have dinner as my phone starts vibrating, its an emergency garage door call that is only a few miles away from my orange county residence. As I rush to finish dinner I head out to my truck and start driving toward the property that has a broken garage door. I arrive and introduce myself in a friendly manner. The folks are happy to see me arrive and I am happy to be able to be of service!
As I inspect the garage door I noticed the pair of broken torsion springs, not a problem I thought, I can replace torsion springs within 30 min, not bad isn’t? After all, who wants a garage door technician to be hanging out in your garage for hours? Unfortunately, this did not end up being the case! The door was a custom garage door that required customs springs! And of course no matter how well my truck is stocked in parts there is no way on earth that I can have custom springs in stock!
“What?!! The customer begins to get uneasy, “you mean to tell me I have to wait until tomorrow to get my springs replaced? I called for emergency service because you guys are supposed to be prepared, what kind of unprofessional garage door service this is?!”Please understand, there are so many models and sizes of garage door parts that it is impossible to be carrying EVERY single part in the truck!
Don’t think for a second that I am trying to make excuses. Even though my number one priority is to have you experience the most excellent garage door service experience sometimes things get a little complicated. For example, If I am late sometimes is not because I am unprofessional its because sometimes a job takes longer than scheduled causing me to be late to my next appointment, and if this isn’t the case accidents that I have no control over happen on the freeway which delay me.
My everyday goal is to make every customer 100% satisfied with our prompt and reliable service and also with our quality of parts. Even thou that is our creed we have encountered faulty parts that need to be replaced free of charge. I know its an inconvenience for the customer, but that event is truly one that I couldn’t have avoided! How could I have possibly known it was going to be faulty. Things do happen sometimes that are not within our reach to avoid. All we could do is ask for patience when we don’t meet your expectations and give us the opportunity to gratify you with a discount or free parts. No matter the circumstances our priority is to make our customers 100% satisfied having said that just know I will do everything to be able to do just that.
Life as an Emergency garage door technician is not easy, it has its challenges. We are always on call and have to be available at all times. We are running around from place to place making sure that every garage door in Orange County is working well. Things don’t always go as we want them but with dedication and understanding every customer always end up happy. And this my friend is what I live for. Have a wonderful night I need to get up from bed since I got an emergency call just now.
